He waited for a claimant to appear, and when a ne- gro came to the car, the sheriff ar- rested him and placed him in jail. The negro, however, disclaimed any ownership of the car, up he was riding. Whereupon the sheriff took the car in possession and left word for the owner to call for it at the city hall. When the alleged owner appeared and was told this, he a Dallas car, and evidently stolen. A search was instituted.
