nal success by Lucrezia Bori, Signor
Caruso, Frieda Hempel and other
Metropolitan artists.
Alfred C. Green, tenor, is the type
of singer that everyone is delighted
to hear—a clear, ringing voice of the
finest quality and used with artistic
finish and thorough musicianship.
Mr. Green had already made an im-
portant place for himself before com-
ing to Chicago, which accounts for
his securing almost immediately one
of the best choir positions in the city
in competition with many other ap-
plicants. He has continued his stud-
ies while here—except when in naval
service—with Mr. Geo. W. Jinkins,
taking daily lessons for the best part
of two years. Mr. Green’s work is
highly satisfactory both as soloist and
in quartet numbers.
Leonard S. Aldridge, basso can-
tanta, is a younger man than his
years of training and successful ex-
perience would indicate. His first
teacher was Arthur Middleton, of the
Metropolitan Opera Company, New
York, with whom he spent two years.
He was then a year with Mr. Sac-
cerdote, of Chicago, and later gave
two years of hard study under Mr.
Walter Allen Stults, of Evanston.
He has had four years of concert ex-
perience and met with great success
everywhere. His voice is of the rich
beautiful quality that all audiences
are delighted to hear. He is destined
to attain great things in the musical
world. Both the critics and the gen-
eral public accord him high praise.
Miss Mary Glen, pianist and ac-
companist, studied three years at the
New England Conservatory, Boston,
and enjoyed at the same time thrz2
years of study in composition with
the eminent teacher, Geo. W. Chad-
wick. Later she spent three years
with Lepold Godowsky, of New York,
‘than whom there is perhaps no great-
er piano teacher in this country. Miss
Glen is an artist-accompanist to her
finger tips and a soloist of most ex-
cellent ability.
