SERGEANT KENNY PASSES Everyone who has been connected with the College in any capacity for the past dozen years is pained that the Campus is to see no more of the genial, generous and unaffected Serg- eant Kenny. As faithfully as any man among us he discharged his duty ‘to his day and generation, serving loyally and efficiently = at whatever task or position to which duty called | him. Few men have fitted ino their situ- ations at College better than Sergeant Kenny did into his. He had a keen knowledge of young men, a very kind- ly interest in them and an adaptability toward them which made him the friend of every student. Loyal to their interests and to every interest of the College, he was a valuable and valued employe and our memory of him will be treasured for many, many days. . Why clog the docket of the courts with little matters like this? Teach- ~ ers of other days ‘could have settled a little problem like this with a great deal more expedition and, effectiveness by taking the matter into their own hands. Inasmuch as “sheep skin” parch- ‘ment is no longer available for the manufacture of graduation certifi- cates, the news dispatches announce that donkey skins will be camouflaged into parchment henceforth. But this does not necessarily mean that the future holders of diplomas must nec- essarily partake of the nature of asses. “Corn and rye prices going up”, These articles are probably trying to break into the class with rock and rye. BOARD OF DIRECTORS WILL RE- |* ORGANIZE TODAY The directors of the College will be in session at the board rooms here to- f| day and as this is the first meeting un- der the new term and the first to be attended by Messrs. Astin of Bryan. IL. J. Hart of San Antonio was recently re-appointed for another six-year term by Governor Hobby. KODAK PICTURES ARE WANTED FOR 1919 LONGHORN It is very necessary that we have a large number of kodak pictures to make the 1919 Long Horn a success and we would like to have all snapshots that could be used in this section turned in to “Catfish” Goodman, 54 Milner, as soon as possible. Athletic pictures, room interiors, individual or group pictures, pictures taken on the way to Fort Sheridan and while at Fort Sheridan, those taken during the S.A.T.C. regime, and views of the Campus and the surrounding territory are a few of the many that we would like to obtain for this year’s annual. Get busy with that camera and help to make this section the best one in this year’s Long Horn. LONG HORN MANAGEMENT. lr STUDENT FORUM WILL BE HELD TONIGHT The first meeting of the Student Forum according to the new schedule will be held in the Y chapel this eve- ning at 7:30 o’clock. The from Wednesday to Tuesday evening for the meeting was made necessary by the mid-week picture show being presented on Wednesdays. ——— ee ———————— LOST—Between Campus Post Ex-: change and Interurban, $82.00 in currency.
